Zonta International

Zonta was started in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, with a vision of improving the status of women.  Today, Zonta International boasts over 29,000 members in more than 1150 clubs across 63 countries, a truly global organisation.  In 2019, Zonta celebrated its centenary, and looks forward to another century of empowering women through advocacy.

Globally, every two years, Zonta International supports a range of self help programs for women and  girls across the globe, a range of scholarships in areas as diverse as business administration and aeronautical engineering.

Since its inception in 1919, Zontians have been involved in empowering women in developing countries through international service.  Since the first international project was funded, over $USD19.2 million has been contributed to projects in 35 countries.

In the 2020 – 2022 biennium, Zonta International are supporting a number of projects –

Zonta International’s impact showcased in 2020 Annual Report

Zonta International is pleased to share the 2020 Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women Annual Report.

Our collective impact, however, goes well beyond one year. Zonta clubs, Zontians and friends of Zonta have joined efforts and taken action to achieve gender equality and provide opportunities for women and girls for the last 100 years. In the same year we celebrated our centennial anniversary, the Zonta Foundation for Women’s dedicated donors contributed more than US$5.8 million to support our projects and programs and the Centennial Anniversary Endowment Campaign.

We are grateful to all of our donors for their generosity and support of Zonta International and the Zonta Foundation for Women.
